Production
The productive activities of our company are focused on switchgears manufactured within the framework of various cooperation agreements.
Medium voltage installations are assembled on the basis of an agreement signed with ABB, according to which we hold rights to the assembly of ZS1, ZS8, and UNIMIX air-insulated installations.
With regard to low voltage installations, we have been cooperating with the Eaton (Moeller) company for nearly twenty years. Today, we are one of the few Eaton partner companies entitled to manufacture MODAN and xEnergy distribution units under a licence agreement.
The distribution units and switchgears covered by the cooperation agreement are produced under strict technical supervision by their manufacturers, using materials of identical quality.
In addition to the above manufacturers and models, we are naturally ready to consider the installations and component ranges of other manufacturers, as well, if our Client so wishes.
Retrofitting
Several large companies – for cost-saving, operational, or other practical reasons – have expressed a desire to realise the modernisation of their electrical installations through renovation and the exchange of outdated structural components and devices, instead of creating a new installation. To satisfy these customer requirements, VÁV UNION Kft. can undertake the renovation of the enclosed medium voltage devices of almost any former manufacturer (e.g. VÁV installations, or VERTESZ 10VEK400, SRTO, STO, BOTO, etc. models). The key element of primary renovation is the installation of a new circuit breaker, which is performed through the installation of a vacuum or SF6 (for example ABB: VD4, VM1, or HD4 models) circuit breaker chosen by the client, and by the renovation or modification of the structure of the truck in our workshop. If required, renovation can extend to each primary component, such as the installation of new current transformers, ground switches, surge arrestors, etc.
Renovation of secondary components and the installation of protection and control technologies that match the needs of our Client can be based on the most modern solutions. In order to reduce transition times, the entire low voltage (relay) cabinet or the assembled service panel of the existing cabinet can be replaced as a unit, using elements pre-produced at our workshop.
Another important area of retrofitting concerns the modernisation of not enclosed MV panels, which we have performed on a large number of switchgears of industrial and utility companies.
Production of former VÁV components
With the purchase of the Villamos Állomásszerelő Vállalat (VÁV – Switchgear Company, henceforth: VÁV) in 1994, VÁV UNION Kft. has acquired the rights to all devices and components produced by the formerly state-owned company over the decades. In possession of these licences, our company can undertake repairs and renovations of VÁV medium voltage devices – e.g. NT 10, NT12, NT20, NBK10, NBK20, NKB, BNT6 – located anywhere in Hungary, both at our establishment or on site.
Renovation is carried out according to the principles and methods outlined for the case of retrofitting. If existing installations need to be extended, we can deliver to our Clients cells equipped with more modern versions of existing primary and secondary devices, identical in size and structure to those, with favourable conditions.
