Business security
The quality of any switchgear, i.e. its ability to meet the user’s requirements, is influenced by three main factors: the design of the equipment, the technical quality of the switchgear and other secondary components incorporated and, finally, the way in which the manufacturer can integrate the components, i.e. the intellectual added value that the product can offer users in terms of service and safety. For each of our projects, these aspects are a primary consideration.
Modernisation of medium voltage equipment
Of the 50 or so types of medium-voltage equipment manufactured by VÁV over the past decades and still in operation today, we have installed new primary switchgear in 15 types, and in around 10 types of equipment manufactured by other companies. We have ready-made, tested solutions for almost all possible combinations of equipment and the type of switch that can be installed.

The EK 110 type direct current equipment for supplying local and interurban public transport is a field-type, typified, indoor, stationary, free-standing, low-voltage switchgear and controlgear (TTA) of field construction, which complies with the requirements of standard MSZ EN 60439-1:2000.

Intelligence and operational safety
The quality of any switchgear, i.e. its ability to meet the user’s expectations, is influenced by three main factors:
- the design of the equipment,
- the technical quality of the switchgear and other secondary components incorporated,
- finally, the way in which the manufacturer is able to integrate the built-in elements, i.e. the intellectual added value that the product can bring to the user in terms of increased performance and safety.
A new, innovative means of protecting 0.4 kV switchgear is the ARCON® active arc fault protection system, which we have already installed in several of our highly sensitive installations requiring high security of supply.

The EK 110 type direct-current equipment for supplying local and interurban public transport is a field-type, typified, indoor, stationary, free-standing, low-voltage switchgear and controlgear (TTA) of field construction, which complies with the requirements of standard MSZ EN 60439-1:2000. The equipment shall have an air-insulated, partially compartmented main busbar with a rated current of 5000 A and a 3100 A auxiliary busbar.
Design, equipment – Standard and variants
The EK 110 type DC switchgear is designed to meet the needs of modern urban and suburban public transport and the transport companies that operate it. The basic design of the EK 110 field is the traction branch with trolley circuit-breaker and auxiliary busbar disconnector and the so-called line test auxiliary circuit. The same design is represented by the auxiliary busbar feeder field, which transmits the traction energy to the auxiliary busbar instead of to the connecting cable line. A further element of the field supply is the in-feed, which receives the energy in-feed from the current transformer(s) via a disconnector.
The documentation describes the above field variants and the type test is also performed for these fields of key importance. However, the application of the EK 110 may require the incorporation of additional field(s) with different functions than those mentioned above (e.g. longitudinal splitting, fitting to existing circuit diagram, etc.). These specific fields can be developed following the electrical and structural solutions described in the basic design.
The device including the individual field(s) is typified because it complies with the type dimensions and system listed below and does not contain any deviations that significantly affect its functionality compared to the type device tested according to EN 60439-1:2000.
Switchgear of type EK 110 may only be installed in a closed electrical control room which complies with the operating conditions. The installation can be carried out in a cable duct, through a slab opening or even on a podium, aligned with the openings of the lower cable connection. Photovoltaic equipment
We were almost the first of the companies with an electrical core profile to turn to renewable energy sources, especially solar panels. Our company has built a 10 kW solar panel installation for MOL Plc. next to their busiest petrol station, located at the 22.5 km section of the M1 motorway.
NSR Light fitting
As VAV UNION always seeks to develop it’s products and markets to meet the needs of it’s customers by being always a step ahead with the latest electrical technology, we decided to estabilish a partnership in the production of new light fitting products in collaboration with our Hungarian partner Synergies Middle East Europe Kft under the name of “NSR”.
Our companies merged their solid manufacturing and business relationship together with Synergies Middle Europe Kft since 2014. Synergies Middle Europe Kft having a very strong global business network and knowledge especially in the MENA region.
NSR is a lighting fittings brand name which was developed up to the highest European standards. We are very confident that our new product line will be a game changer in the lightning industry
