Our colleague’s presentation at a professional conference

The 2nd Urban Transport Electricity Conference was held in Pécs between 15 and 17 October 2013.

The conference covered topics such as energy planning for electrically powered public transport in rural cities, the construction of the M4 metro line in Budapest, changes in the legal environment for licensing procedures and EU-funded projects to improve public transport in Budapest.

The conference presented the practice, innovations and upgrades of urban power supply development through concrete projects. Presentations were given on examples from Budapest, Pécs, Debrecen, Szeged and the implementation of the Miskolc tram project under the title “Green Arrow”.

József Sztankó from VÁV UNION was invited to the conference to give a presentation on the modernisation of the electricity supply in Miskolc and the main steps of the modernisation. In his presentation, he also presented the latest equipment developed by VÁV UNION for traction purposes, the EK 110 DC switchgear.

The conference was organized by BKV Zrt. as the founding organizer, the MTA Pécs Academic Committee, the Transport Working Committee of the Technical and Earth Sciences Committee, the KTE Urban Transport Section, the KTE Baranya County Regional Organization of KTE, with the support of the Railway Power Foundation.
