Tram No 3 is running again on a full line

The overhaul of the tram line 3, which has been going on for more than a year, is coming to an end, including the reconstruction of the transformers, so from Sunday 30 November 2014 the tram 3 will be running again on its full line, i.e. between Mexikói út M and Gubacsi út.

VÁV UNION Ltd., as a subcontractor of Siemens Zrt., played a major role in the renewal of Budapest’s longest tram line, the 3 tram line.

Even before the work started, the customer and the operator expected the stations to remain operational throughout the entire installation period. Thanks to the hard work of our colleagues, we were able to meet this requirement to the maximum extent possible throughout the entire project, so that the travelling public did not have to notice this very important activity in the background.Within the framework of the contract, we carried out the renovation and conversion of the so-called Száva, Kőbánya, MILLFAV and Határ út transformers. The project included the renewal of the medium voltage and direct current transmission, auxiliary and control equipment of the stations.

We are proud to have been able to participate in these major works to the satisfaction of our clients.
